What We Believe

God is Holy, Just and Loving

To say that God is Holy means that He is separate or set apart. There is no trace of sin in His character. Therefore, we should hold God in the highest regard and treat Him with the utmost respect. Exodus 3:5-6; Leviticus 20:26; James 1:13; Romans 9:19-20

To say that God is Just means that He will always do what is right. That means He will never ignore or break any rules or commands. He will never show partiality and God will never ignore the punishment of those who are guilty. Acts 10:34; Hebrews 6:10; Romans 12:19;  2 Corinthians 5:10

To say that God is Loving means that He has our best interest in mind. Because He is Holy His standards are perfection without any sin. Because He is Just He must require a punishment for every sin. We all have sinned and therefore, deserve to be punished for our sin. (Ezekiel 18:20; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Matthew 10:28; Revelation 20:14). However, because God is Loving He has established a plan that allows for sinful people to not be punished for their sins and at the same time remain Holy and Just. He did this by coming to earth, living a sinless life, and dying on the cross to pay the punishment of our sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:6-8; John 15:13

The Bible is the only 100% reliable source for the truth

The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is without error. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Corinthians 2:14-16; 2 Peter 1:21; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:15; Psalms 12:6; 119:105-106; Proverbs 30:5

Therefore, all teaching must first be tested with God's Word. If it can't be tested it can't be trusted. Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21; Galatians 1:8-9; 2 Thessalonians 2:15; 2 Corinthians 4:2

All sin is bad and is bad for us

Sin is defined as breaking the law (1 John 3:4). The Bible does not recognize degrees of sin. Whether a person habitually lies, commits murder or practices homosexuality the results are still the same, guilty (James 2:10). All sin damages our relationship with God (Isaiah 59:2).

Anyone can change

We are all created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). When we sin we are not acting like ourselves (Romans 7:14-21). The world tends to define us by our mistakes/sin. Jesus didn't do that, often He would spend time with people who were known for their sin (Matthew 9:11). He wasn't endorsing their behavior, He looked past their sin and saw who they really were. He was compassionate toward known sinners (John 8:1-11; Luke 7:36-48; Luke 19:1-10). God desires everyone to stop sinning and turn to Him (2 Peter 3:9; Matthew 9:13). God desires more than to have people stop sinning, He desires a whole new relationship (2 Corinthians 5:17) . . .

Baptism is essential in our relationship with Jesus Christ

Jesus said, "If you love Me you will obey My commands." (John 14:15). Jesus commanded every believer to be baptized (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:16).
